The NGOs national platforms International Conference will take place in Paris on 27-30 October 2008.

On 27th and 28th October, Coordination SUD will organize a get-together reserved for NGOs national platforms representatives from more than 80 countries. This meeting aims to promote NGOs initiatives to the national authorities and to regional and international organizations. Besides a discussion on good practices and advices drawn from singular experiences, the conference intend to create conditions for a better participation of NGOs from the South in international debates and facilitate the creation of a global network or a NGO national platforms alliance.

Meetings between NGOs platforms representatives and international actors will take place on 29 October.

Finally, on 30 October, Coordination SUD and CONCORD will organize a conference, officially supported by the French presidency of the European Union, named “World view on Europe”. This day will be the opportunity to recall the contributions of the NGO national platforms representatives from more than 80 countries about their views and requests with regard to Europe. Many NGO representatives, intellectuals, journalists and politicians will take part in the debate. A diplomatic package composed of the NGOs’ requests will be handed to the French and European authorities at the end of the day.

Non-governmental diplomacy
Proposals of Coordination SUD for G8 summit 2008 Coordination SUD was able to get to know the agenda put forward by the Japanese government for the next G8 Summit to be held in Toyako, on the island of Hokkaido, from July 7th to 9th, 2008. After consulting French NGOs, and exchanging extensively with some of its international partners, Coordination SUD, at this point of the preparation process for the G8, has decided upon a number of proposals, positions, and demands.
