Following the death of the Guinean President Lansana CONTE after 24 years of powerful governance without sharing and in perspective of the political instability which prevails in the capital of the country, Conakry, the REPAOC, the network which regroups more than 1000 NGOs present in 10 African countries and which the Guinea National Platform is a member, expresses its profound concern and reminds the urgency to respect the transition democratic of the state and the rule of law and the consideration of the right of the people to live in peace and to choose their government.
The REPAOC invites all the parties:
to respect democracy and institutions within the hope of a quite transition
to organize new elections in 2 months according to the Constitution
to consider all the recommendations of the Civil Society Organisations of Guinea through an opened multi-level dialogue to find a consensus and end the political crisis.
The REPAOC can’t accept the Guinean to go down in sub-region.
The REPAOC intends to lead from this day an international advocacy campaign towards the United –Nations, the financial partners of Guinea and the whole international community in order to help the Guinean people to elect political representatives and to put an end all the years of bad-governance and corruption.
