DEMOCRATIC ALTERNATIVES AGAINST INEQUALITY AND INEQUITY, IN TIMES OF GLOBAL CRISIS
MESA de Articulación de Asociaciones Nacionales y Redes de ONG de América Latina y el CaribeTHE ALTERNATIVES THAT WE PROPOSE
• Extension and radicalizing of democracy: control and trasparency of public administration; deepening of decentralizing and regional-based processes; extension of participation mechanisms, and strengthening of civil society networks.
• Recognition of and possibilities to demand economic, social and cultural rights: denounce and reject commercial and negotiation agendas that seek to break regional integration processes. Correspondingly, themes like water recourses, public services, inversions, public purchases, competition and intellectual property should be excluided from negotiations. The people´s right to circulate without restrictions and the rights of inmigrants should be fully recognized.
• A new international financial system: we need to establish a financial system that guarantees the progressive and differentiated taxation of capital income and we need to revert encouragements of the financial system to obtain exorbitant benefits by means of speculation.
• Global environmental justice in the face of climate change: the costs to administer the crisis should be assumed by the people that benefitted from the spectacular profits up to this moment.
• Strengthening and redesignment of international cooperation: establishment of global solidarity mechanisms and effective enquiry and consultation mechanisms, permanent monitering and evaluation of the criteria, proyects and programmes of international cooperation.

Le FIP au FSM : Atelier sur la lutte contre les inégalités et l’exclusion sociale en es pt
9 février 2011, Le Forum international des plates-formes nationales d’ONG (FIP) a clôturé ce mercredi 9 février sa série d’ateliers proposés dans le cadre du Forum sociale mondial (FSM) par un atelier sur la lutte contre les inégalités sociales et l’exclusion sociale présenté par ACCION, la plate-forme nationale des ONG chiliennes. -
MESA de ARTICULACION : Actualités
Réunion de la MESA de Articulación à Buenos Aires en es pt
16 novembre 2010, Les organisations membres de la MESA se sont rencontrées à Buenos Aires en Argentine autour de différentes activités, sur l’initiative de son Comité de coordination composée des plates-formes chilienne (ACCIÓN) et brésilienne (ABONG) ainsi que du réseau ALOP. La Rencontre annuelle de la MESA a eu lieu les 1er et 2 novembre ; le 3 novembre s’est tenu l'atelier continental sur le rapport sur la démocratie et le développement en Amérique latine de 2009 à 2010, organisée par ALOP avec le concours de la MESA ; enfin les 4 et 5 novembre ALOP a organisé un séminaire sur « L'intégration régionale et internationale de l'Amérique latine dans un contexte de crise mondiale : défis et alternatives pour la société civile."
