With the emergence of voluntary development organizations in the early 80s.the need for regrouping, for co-action both at the national as well as the provincial levels was strongly felt. Thanks to active UNDP support and support by the Planning Ministry, several meetings with DNGO were made possible.
Important dates are: July 1985, The First Round Table Conference of Development NGOs held in Kinshasa; 1987, Mbanza Ngungu workshop that proposed a government framework agreement - DNGO. December 1987, the Round Table at Kinshasa during which was created the Technical Follow up committee given the task of structuring the DNGO movement; December 1990, National Conference of DNGO at Kinshasa had approved the creation of the NATIONAL COUNCIL OF NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS FOR DEVELOPMENT (NCNGOD). In this context it must be emphasized that in 2004, Ordinary General Body of the NCDGOD had decided to give a new orientation to the Network.
